Saturday Wine Tasting: November 7, 2026

Saturday, November 7, 2026: 3:00 – 5:00pm

Stop by this Saturday afternoon for a tasting with our host Laurence Vuelta, CSW, CSS from Sunrise Wines.

We’ve chosen a knockout round of Italian pours that will transport you all the way to Il Bel Paese and back in an afternoon.

But have no fear: You can buy all the (bottle-shaped) souvenirs you can carry to help you remember your trip!

CollAlto San Salvatore Brut DOCG 2025 – This Prosecco (85% Glera, 15% Verdiso) is from the famed Conegliano Valdobbiadene hills about 50 kilometers north of Venice. Named for the hill whose summit bears the Castle of San Salvatore, this refined blend spends four months on lees.

San Moro Fiano 2024 – 100% Fiano from the oldest active wine cooperative in Puglia. Fiano is an ancient, thick-skinned white grape that was brought back from the edge of extinction in the 1970s, and is now sought after for its excellent cellaring ability.

Vetunna Grechetto 2024 – 100% Grechetto sustainably cultivated and produced by Cantina Vetunna in Umbria. ‘Grechetto’ means ‘little Greek,’ denoting this white grape’s Hellenistic heritage. Often blended with Trebbiano in the Orvieto DOC, it’s fun to see this one standing on its own two feet.

Sturm Pinot Grigio 2024 – 100% Pinot Grigio from Sturm Agricola in Friuli-Venezia Giulia. The DOC Collio is known for its Ponca soil: stratified marl and sandstone (generously populated with marine fossils) that is ideal for growing clean, crisp Pinot Grigio fruit.

Ayatuna Nerello Mascalese Rosato 2024 – 100% Nerello Mascalese grown on the volcanic slopes of Mt. Etna. Helmed by Filippo Mangione, Ayatuna focuses on organic and sustainable practices while bringing a fresh approach to an older, hands-off style of winemaking.

Corte Scaletta Valpolicella Classico 2024 – This classic blend of Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella is sustainably produced by Società Agricola Corte Scaletta, just outside of Verona. Scaletta favors guyot training for its reduced yield, spontaneous ambient yeast fermentation, and stainless steel to preserve the fruits’ bright acidity.

Podere Ruggieri Corsini Dolcetto 2023 – 100% Dolcetto from the Monforte D’Alba. Dolcetto is often confused for a sweet grape–a reasonable error given that ‘Dolcetto’ means ‘little sweet one’ in Italian–but Dolcetto serves as the backbone for many of the best (and driest) medium-bodied reds in the Piedmont. Organically and sustainably produced.
