A little about us…
Glasshalfull is a contemporary American restaurant, bar, and wine shop located in downtown Carrboro.
Both the food and the wine selection are influenced by the cuisine of the Mediterranean, and the menu features ingredients from valued local purveyors. Glasshalfull’s menu changes regularly depending on what is in season, and the dishes are meant to be enjoyed with wine or spirits. Most of the dishes can be shared in a festive exploration of both near and far.
Glasshalfull opened its doors in March 2007 as a partnership between Jim Wald and Mickey Maloney. Thanks to Mickey and Jim’s depth of knowledge about wine from their many years in the wine business, wine is at Glasshalfull’s core. Glasshalfull’s moderately priced wine list includes a compact yet diverse selection of about 25 wines offered by the taste, the glass, or the bottle so you can experiment. The wine shop features nearly 300 wines from small producers in France, Italy, Spain, and Austria and other areas with exceptional Old World–style wines. The bar also offers craft beers on tap and both classic and original cocktails.
We want Glasshalfull to be a place where you can celebrate things large and small, a place you can come for a leisurely lunch or an elegant dinner. If you enjoy the wine served with your meal, we make it easy for you to purchase a bottle from the shop on your way out. We regularly host wine dinners and other special events and offer half-price bottles of wine from the restaurant wine list every Monday. Last but not least, we are proud to be an Orange County Living Wage member because we feel Glasshalfull’s success begins with the people who work hard daily to make it a great experience.
So as the sun sets on the Carrboro skyline and the candles cast their romantic glow, remember that there’s always something to celebrate at Glasshalfull!
