Saturday Wine Tasting: August 8
Saturday, August 8, 2026: 3:00 – 5:00pm
This weekend we are excited to have our very own Fran Castillo behind the bar hosting our Saturday Wine Tasting! If you haven’t had a chance to meet Fran, she brings with her a passion for wine and wine education. Her background is law, but like a lot of us was bitten by the wine bug several years ago and hasn’t looked back. Creating her own company in 2020, Sip.Stir.Go, you may have seen her around the Triangle hosting events while educating and promoting wines. We have been lucky enough to have her on the team since mid-April. She is a WSET Level 2 and has passed the Introductory Sommelier Course.
Fran has selected wines, all made from indigenous grapes, that we believe are perfect for the end of Summer and beyond. The gorgeous Côtes de Gascogne from Plaimont, a co-op of winegrowers in southwest France, is sure to wow the taste buds with it’s clean, refreshing qualities. The organically grown Grillo from Marino Abate provides a touch more weight and finishes with mouthwatering acidity. The Timorasso from famed Claudio Mariotto is something you won’t want to miss. The stunning, biodynamically farmed K-Nom from Clos Troteligotte is full of flavor and will delight the senses while pairing perfectly with your end of Summer BBQ’s. We can write about how great these wines are OR, join us tomorrow, Saturday, from 3:00 until 5:00pm and taste these gems!
These are the wines Fran will be walking us through:
